Meet the Team
Andrew Rhŷs Evans graduated from Aston University in 1982, gaining his practising qualification in 1983 (Member of the College of Optometrists: MBCO). He is also registered with the General Optical Council, Association of Optometrists and contracted with the Primary Care Trust for NHS Services. At the same time as he took on the practice, Andrew also worked as an Optometrist at Princess Margaret Hospital and held this post for 12 years.
Andrew continues to build and improve the practice, placing emphasis on clinical excellence and investing in the latest technology to assist in the early diagnosis of eye and health disorders. Alongside Penny, contact lens fitting and care is an increasing aspect of his work at the practice.
Penny graduated from a London University in 1985, gaining her practising qualification in 1986 (Member of College of Optometrists: MBCO). She is also registered with the General Optical Council, Association of Optometrists and contracted with the Primary Care Trust for NHS Services.
Penny joined Andrew 16 years ago and has built up a loyal patient base in her clinics at the practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She also shares some of the Saturday clinics.
Suhail joined Andrew 16 years ago to complete a motivated and caring professional team. Suhail is an experienced Dispensing Optician qualifying in 1999 (Member of British Dispensing Opticians: FBDO). His vast knowledge of spectacle lens design and form compliments his pride in the depth and diversity of frame designs and prices he oversees at the practice.
His advice is sought by every age group when visiting the practice and an exchange of views on current sporting events is often the source of merriment heard coming from the dispensing area! Suhail translates prescription accuracy into comfortable eyewear.
